Henning Jørgensen

Henning became interested in tattooing at the age of 13. When he turned 18, he finally began his training as a tattoo artist on Istedgade in Vesterbro, Copenhagen. This marked the beginning of a long career.

After his time on Istedgade, Henning worked in Nyhavn, including alongside the now-famous Ole Hansen. In 1983, he founded Royal Tattoo in Helsingør.

Henning specialises in traditional and Japanese tattoos. He sees tattooing as a craft, with learning and continued development providing strong motivation.

Over the years, Henning and Royal Tattoo have attracted positive attention in Denmark and around the world. This international recognition is reflected in the more than 50 awards Henning has won since the 1990s, and his three worldwide titles as “Tattoo Artist of the Year”.
