Henning Jørgensen became interested in tattooing at the age of 13. At 18, he began his training as a tattoo artist on Istedgade in Vesterbro, Copenhagen.
He later worked in Nyhavn, including alongside Ole Hansen. In 1983, he founded Royal Tattoo in Helsingør — an independent studio with traditional and Japanese tattooing as an important part of its foundation.
For Henning, learning and continued development are part of the craft. This approach has been part of Royal Tattoo from the beginning.

Good technique and creativity go hand in hand with personal advice. Whether you are here for your first tattoo or are already a regular customer, the work begins with your ideas.
Henning and Royal Tattoo have earned international recognition over the years. Henning has won more than 50 awards since the 1990s and has been named worldwide “Tattoo Artist of the Year” three times.
This has brought tattoo artists from around the world to Helsingør. Each contributes their own style and experience, and their work, alongside Henning’s, has appeared in international tattoo magazines.
