FAQ
Questions about booking, designs and your visit to Royal Tattoo.
Booking and prices
I would like to get tattooed at Royal Tattoo. What should I do?
Start by visiting the shop. There is always someone at the counter to help you refine your ideas and find the right artist for your project. We can then book a consultation with your chosen artist. Sometimes a consultation is needed to take a tracing of the area and discuss how to proceed.
If you live far away, email us your ideas and we can take it from there.
Consultations are free. When we book your tattoo appointment or start your drawing, we ask for a deposit.
How much is the deposit, and why is it necessary?
The deposit depends on the total cost of your tattoo. For a small tattoo, the minimum deposit is DKK 300.
Deposits are required because cancellations can leave an artist with an appointment that cannot be filled. You must cancel at least 48 hours before your appointment, or you will lose your deposit.
Can I get a quote for my tattoo?
We cannot give a quote over the phone or by email. Visit the shop and tell us about your ideas so we can give you a rough estimate. All tattoos are custom-made, so there is no standard price.
How long is your waiting list?
Waiting times vary between artists. Only Henning has a waiting list. He opens his calendar every six months, so please email us if you would like a tattoo from him. For our other artists, we can book an appointment straight away. Contact us to find out how to book a specific artist.
I do not live in Denmark. Can I get a tattoo during my visit?
We can arrange an appointment by email. A deposit is still required to secure your booking. Contact us with your ideas and the dates you will be in Denmark.
Ideas and design
Do you also do small tattoos?
Yes, we love doing small tattoos too. The pictures on our website show each artist’s style, but they also enjoy working on other kinds of tattoos.
Can one of your artists draw my idea?
Yes. Royal Tattoo is a custom shop, and most clients bring their own ideas. Book a consultation and we will work it out together.
Can I see my design before my tattoo appointment?
Yes, most of our artists will show you your design a day or a few days before your tattoo appointment. Remember to book an appointment for this too.
How do I arrange a cover-up of an existing tattoo?
Visit the shop so we can see your existing tattoo and assess the possibilities for covering it. Cover-ups usually require very careful planning to achieve the best result.
Can I get a white tattoo?
White ink is known to last poorly in the skin, so we do not recommend white tattoos. We assess each case individually.
Your visit to the studio
Can I bring a friend?
Yes, you can bring a friend. They are welcome to stay in the waiting area while you are being tattooed.
Can I get a tattoo if I am under 18?
No. By law, you must be at least 18 to get a tattoo in Denmark. This applies even if your parents give their permission.
Can I bring my children while I am being tattooed?
Children often find it boring to wait while adults are being tattooed. To keep the studio calm and comfortable, we appreciate you leaving your children at home.
Can I enter the shop in a wheelchair?
There is one step at our front door. When booking, let us know if you use a wheelchair or have other needs we should be aware of. That way, we can arrange for you to sit comfortably.
