For more than 400 years Helsingør was internationally known as Elsinore, the old market town where Shakespeare’s famous Hamlet took place. But in 1983 something completely different happened when Henning Jorgensen established Royal Tattoo.

Though Royal Tattoo is still situated in one of Helsingør’s small inviting streets and Henning is still at the helm in the bright shop with the great atmosphere, something has changed since he opened the shop. The world has discovered Royal Tattoo.

At Royal Tattoo tattooing is a craftsmanship that demands creativity, technical skills and experience. Together with individual advice of all clients – new as well as regular – these are important virtues constantly developed at Royal Tattoo and during the years it has put the shop on the international map.

It has also given Henning an reputation as one of world’s leading tattooists. His numerous international awards bear testament to the recognition and he’s been honoured with the title as ”Tattooist of the Year” three times.

Furthermore Royal Tattoo’s status has enticed some of the best tattoo artist from all over the world to join the shop in Helsingør. They contribute with their own styles and their awards mix with Henning’s on the walls while major tattoo magazines often exhibit their art work.
